If there is one thing Frax has excelled at, it has been pioneering new frontiers before they become the meta. From the beginning, the protocol has consistently acted in this manner whether it was being the first stablecoin to stack CVX and dominate the Curve Wars or being early to deploy one of the leading LSDs on-chain with frxETH. Now, at a time when DAO sentiment is at an all-time low, Frax is once again taking the initiative to change the tide and break ground in a new world, literally.
Enter the Subscape, a first of its kind asymmetric game that pits 24 Realms against each other for dominance over The Island’s sweet $TAHO emissions. It’s as if you added the Curve Wars on top of Settlers of Catan, adding a unique dimension to the gameplay universe that is completely on-chain. And as the beta launch kicks off today, Frax has been selected as one of five inaugural partners and hundreds of members of the Frax community have been whitelisted to enter this exciting new world.
The criteria for qualifying for whitelist (which can be found here) is as follows:
- Anyone who is in the Top 100 veFXS stakers (excluding DAOs)
- Anyone who placed in the Fraxbuild Hackathon
- Anyone who participated in the first 6 months of the Frax Educational Incentive Program
- Anyone who voted in the Fraxbuild Hackathon Proposal
- Anyone who voted in the Frax Educational Incentives Proposal
- Anyone who voted in the Frax Educational Incentives Extension
- Anyone who voted for the Flywheel Grant Renewal of 2023
- Anyone who voted for Flywheel Grant Amendments
- Anyone who filled out the Google Form from DeFi Dave
If you made the whitelist, congratulations! Now is your chance to join the Frax realm. If not, no worries at all, Subscape will gradually open to the wider public in the near future.
For those who are on the whitelist. Here is what you need to do:
- Download the Taho Wallet (only the Taho wallet is compatible with Subscape for now. Other wallet support is to be announced)
- Go to app.taho.xyz and sign in with your wallet to enter the Subscape and make sure you are on Arbitrum Sepolia Testnet.
- Go to the Frax Realm and join as a citizen
- Stake your testnet $TAHO that was airdropped to you in order to earn $XP
- Complete the quest (vote for a gauge and claim reward on votemarket if available)
How to complete the quest:
- Acquire FXS
- Go to https://app.frax.finance/vefxs to stake FXS for voting power
- Go to Votemarket and select a gauge to vote for
- Claim reward at the end of the voting period if available
- If for whatever reason there are nothing to vote for on votemarket, you can vote for any gauge in the Frax dApp
